We’re looking forward to popping our champagne on New Year’s Eve, ringing in 2022. Apart from not remembering how to write the date for two months, it’s our favorite part of the year. With that also comes the anticipation of what’s to come, the new and unfamiliar. Hearts filling with the hope that it’s calm and productive.
Since early 2020 a medical practice or office has become more than just a place where we treat patients. In the new, more digitized, post-pandemic world, it’s taken on a whole new meaning. Telehealth has become the new normal for more and more practitioners. While this form of healthcare gave an additional safety net to people during the pandemic it was also a breeding ground for cybersecurity issues. One way that practitioners have been able to better secure their patients’ information is by fortifying their firewalls and enacting multi-factor authentication for patient access and information, rendering most hacking attempts unsuccessful.
This is also a great way to ensure the patient has the safest experience that we can give them. Our patients’ experience has also become something that is more and more important. Patients are increasingly looking for an experience that is relative to what they feel they’re paying for. They’ve also come to expect the ease of independently resolving their own questions or issues at their convenience. Our clientele is also looking for the convenience of different services being offered in different locations. Another expectation that most customers have is that services are consistent, if your Downtown office has their file up to date, then your Midtown office has the same information, obviously. This is more linked to the idea that their medical files are in a digital system and updated consistently from one program that is within every computer in your organization.
Here’s to saying goodbye to 2021 in anticipation of the great things we’ll be able to get done in 2022!
