We always feel like we’re busy a hundred percent of the time. The idea of a rate race is synonymous with the medical field. We were able to get our hands on observations made by medical appointment companies that gave us a good idea of when the busy season is for certain specialties, more on this below:
March– Across all specialties this was the busiest month of the year.
January– This was the second busiest month of the year across all specialties.
August– This was the third busiest month in the medical field.
November and December– These two months tend to be the slowest of the year for medical professionals. This could make the best time of year for a medical professional to take time off.
Specialties of all kinds have peaks of business throughout the year, though there is no clear through-line in any of them. In specialties that have a more consistent busy season we have:
Pediatricians – August – Pre-back-to-school appointments are probably at fault for this surge.
Allergists – March to May – For obvious pollen and spring seasonal ailments this one makes a lot of sense.
Proctologists – August-December
In all cases, our team at Gables Medical Billing is ready to assist you in conducting your revenue cycle management process, getting claims filed in a timely manner and you paid more quickly.
